Darin's ProfileWell where do I start lol. I was born in 1968, 36 years old at the time of writing this. I was officially Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in April 2004 ( Relapsing Remitting), although it was suspected in 2000 when i had suffered Demylination of the spinal cord (C5), after that and numerous tests later, no conclusive Diagnosis could be made until 2004 when I suffered a bad exacerbation, that event made it conclusive lol. I live alone and am single, oh I do live with my dog Sherry and a budgie named Reggie lmao ! Area's where I have Lived and Worked While MS was in the back of My Mind.I was Born in Essendon Melbourne and grew up in East Keilor, I lived there till the age of 16-17 then lived in Pascoe Vale and various share houses with friends, some good times and some bad lol. Then I had decided that I didn't want to be one of the sheep I saw going to work everyday on the freeway. Thus my life of travelling and working began around Australia. It was the best decision I made and have no regrets. I didnt just visit for a couple of weeks I lived and experienced new places and faces. I lived 4 years in Alice Springs N.T. and had one of the best jobs in Australia as a maintenance Mechanic/Part-time Driver at the Joint defence Facility Pine Gap. Probably the best job i ever had with great people and part of a great lifestyle. No hint of MS at this stage. I had Previously lived and worked at Uluru (Ayers Rock) for a brief stint hence ending up in Alice Springs. Something's Not Right !I ended up back in Melbourne and that's when the Demylination happened, although I hadn't felt quite right before that event. When I was told by the Neurologist that there was a possibilty of MS, but that another attack had to happen before a definitive diagnosis could be given, I thought stuff it and jumped on my motor bike and travelled to W.A., across the Nullabor Plains, one of the things that I had to do in my life so I thought what better time. I'm glad I achieved that goal. I had a really good friend over there that I wanted to catch up with and a romantic interest that of course turned to shit, que sera. I also worked at a gold mine in a place called Boddington and a very brief stint at the Bauxite mine. Then through circumstances beyond my control I had to come back to Melbourne and thats when becoming a member of the Mutiple Sclerosis club began, it was a realistic possibilty, as weird things started happening, 2 weeks of double vision, no energy and numb on one side of my face, lost my taste buds and some lessened dexterity in hands being a mechanic this was not a good thing lol. Thats my MS Story whats Yours? That was a very brief history of my life mainly concentrating on the MS part, but thats not all that I am about. One day i may bore you with more lol.
