WebHosting

For a personal Web Site of your own you can choose to sign up to a service and construct your own Website for personal use. I will list the main ones here and add Links to free services as I find them.

If you want total control and want to set up a web business etc. then you will have to get your own hosting and a Domain name. This is one place you can do all of that eg. Web Hosting and Domain Name setup.

Free and Paid WebHosting

These Free Services have conditions that you must read before building your site. They will also generally have ads that the host puts on your pages in exchange for the free service. Pop ups can be a problem, just use FireFox web browser to view your site.

Tripod

You can get free hosting for a personal web site here. One of my friends is trying it out, I will list that site here as an example when she lets me lol. I have joined Tripod to test it out. I did it to test it out it, is very easy and it has many features great for the first timer !

Yahoo/Geocities

If you have a Yahoo ID/Email account you already have a free web site account with Geocities. You have to activate it, but it is there for you now.

The links on the right will cover a range basic Computer topics/tutorials.
