On this page I will attempt to explain some basic things that you can do to make your own website a little more search engine friendly and also general cool stuff you can add to your HTML code eg. Meta Tags etc. Simple things like submitting your site to some search engines, keyword consideration, page title and tools that help you better manage and control you site!

Search Engine Optimization

There are many people on the net with amazing offers about getting you placed high on search engines lists/directories, of course they are very expensive, dont pay, do some research yourself! Google is your friend!!! Of course if you are an International conglomerate then money is no object so none of this is for millionaires lol. More suited for small businesses or personal websites where people are on a tight budget, though still want to get their latest creations out there. Believe me it isn't too hard too do. It just takes some work emailng and being nice to other webmasters.

Search Engine Submission

My opinion about Search engine submission varies, some search engines want you to pay a fee to be allowed to submit your site, I really don't think it's necessary to pay one cent for this, once again if your rich go for it. The best general search engine has always been Google, I have a feeling it always will be, they are always offering great free services to webmasters and although there are always whingers out there, Google is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest. Sure there are great search engines out there that have a particular Niche in the market and they do their job well.

Site Map

Having a site map where you list all your pages for easy navigation is a great way to welcome search engine bots and spiders to crawl your site and well basically catalogue all of your content as well as help those who visit your site, see all or most of your content on the one page.

Google is your Friend

Yes you probably realise by now that I am a fan of Google and all it has to offer, they have some very good tools and services to help the budding webmaster, and most of what they offer is FREE! In fact they even pay you for running ads on your site, this can help offset the costs of hosting your site.
